Vance & Hines Black Exhaust Header Wrap

Overall best

It is evident that Vance and Hines used their experience building exhausts to design this wrap which effectively shields the rider from a lot of the heat while riding. The Black Exhaust Header Wrap is made to withstand the high temperatures that your header pipes will be at when you’re riding aggressively or for longer periods.

This wrap comes as part of a kit that features a lot of the essentials you’ll need to get set up. Laser cut wrap clamps made by Vance and Hines, header wrap heat resistant adhesive tape, and locking stainless steel ties all make the job a lot easier and more straightforward.

The exhaust wrap compound incorporates fiberglass and is designed to trap as much heat as possible, while also reducing the amount of heat that will inevitably radiate out onto the rider and passenger, to a much more manageable degree.

There is ample exhaust wrap to cover two full sized header pipes and effectively stop the heat from leaking onto the passengers. The black color goes well with a blacked out engine or even classic chrome.

Pros
  • Made from high quality material
  • Fiberglass incorporated into the design
  • Heat resistant to even the highest exhaust temperatures
  • All of the necessary parts and connectors are included
  • Traps heat well
  • Doesn’t let heat spill onto riders
Cons
  • Color will lighten over time

Design Engineering Inc EXO Exhaust Heat Wrap

This EXO exhaust wrap by Design Engineering is about as high tech as a heavy duty length of fiberglass can get. Not only does it look cool, it is functional as well. It reduces the amount of heat that radiates onto the driver by quite a bit and protects the exhaust from any scratches or blemishes.

Made using high quality fiberglass, this wrap sports a dual layer design for added shielding and protection. The fiber is also coated and reinforced with a premium 304 stainless steel exoskeleton, making it even better at trapping heat at high temperatures.

The package comes with a good length of exhaust wrap, enough to fully cover the header pipes. Also, it is wide enough to properly cover the ppe without any space for heat to radiate out. The wrap is available in traditional tan or a modern graphite color.

Pros
  • High quality fiberglass
  • Works well to trap heat
  • Protects against scratches, blemishes on headers
  • Protects riders and passengers
  • Tan and graphite colors offered
  • Premium stainless steel exoskeleton
Cons
  • May require additional fitment pieces

Twin Power Exhaust Wraps

Twin Power offers a good budget exhaust wrap that works well to trap heat and keep the rider safe and comfortable. It comes in different colors to match your header pipes and engine.

Made from fiberglass, this exhaust wrap is great at keeping engine and exhaust heat away from the rider and passenger. It can withstand temperatures of up to 2000 degrees Fahrenheit, making it perfectly suited for bikes that are ridden for long distances in the warmer climates.

This exhaust wrap is offered in the customers’ choice of black or tan and looks awesome in both. My personal bike got treated to the tan, giving it a nice old school look. The material is high quality and there is enough exhaust wrap length provided to cover both of the header pipes in their entirety.

The wrap also has the benefit of keeping the exhaust safe from any scratches or unsightly blemishes. It is very confidence inspiring to be able to ride and be sure that debris from the road will not leave a permanent mark on my pristine chrome.

Pros
  • High quality wrap
  • Withstands upto 2000F
  • Two color options available
  • Keeps exhaust heat to a minimum
  • Makes ride more comfortable
  • Cheapest option
Cons
  • Only exhaust wrap, no extra features
